Opinions Needed !

I'm debating whether or not to bead the sides of this box for the Beading for a Cure project.

What do you think?

Although it looks very nice as is, I think a simple design around the body of the box to complement the top would really make it stand out. Maybe a motif - where the design is small and spaced along the middle of the body?

Hi Lynn... first, it's BEAUTIFUL! I agree with Charlene - not too much, but something simple around the sides. I love what you have done the lamp work bead on top.

Only if you feel the box needs more decoration, and you can see a design that is just perfect for the sides.

It is lovely as it is. I like some blank areas on the box to show off the decorated lid.

To me, it looks finished. I would personally call it done. I think anything you do on the sides will distract from the lovely top. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!

I'd add just something around the box to coordinate it with the top. Nothing too outlandish, or it will overthrow the beauty of this box.

Thanks Ladies - I was thinking of doing the same border of raised rope with the scallop along the bottom, so it would match the edge of the top. Hmm, I'll ponder this some more. Please keep the opinions coming!

That's GREAT! I like these beads against the black. I vote with those who say just a little something. Not encrusted, just a rope-ish kind of thing going around the box?

While it's beautiful as is, I think a matching border around the top of the box would be nice.

Hi Lynn, Either way would be beautiful. Maybe if you post a pic with the other item you already made... I am assuming they are going to be a set right... Looks great...

Hi, Lynn. If the blue bottom of the box is a suede or velvet-like material, I think you could keep it plain. If the fabric is more like a ribbon or paper, then dress it up a bit. I think the top is really lovely.

I say do nothing more..stop there...less is more...the box is already beautiful -- why don't you delay the decision by finishing the other pieces then look at the grouping and see if you think it needs something? How it looks with everything else also matters, right?

OK, having said that, I re-looked again and agree that a rope around the bottom of the box might look quite nice ---
