A special request completed

I was asked to make a checkbook cover for a friend and here it is.
I love the way it turned out.
The flower was done separately (like an applique) and then sewn on.
The flower edge is really cute, though it doesn't show in the photo. It actually sort of stands up away from the velvet (I guess I can't really describe it right!)

This back pocket holds a license or credit card, etc.

The two inside pockets hold the register and check supply.

Beautiful! What did you use for the base/stabilizer for your flower? Really nice work.

The flower was beaded on pellon covered poster board (a technique from the Tuscarora beadwork classes I've taken and continue to take as often as humanly possible!). After the beading is done, you trim as close to the beaded area as possible, leaving a slight edge to which I added the picot edge.

Perfect, thanks Lynn!
