Class: Done; Project: Not

Meghan's birthday was Tuesday, which was the same day as my last Tuscarora bead class.  So, of course, the mom guilt kicks in.  I tell her I won't be staying for the whole class - I "just" have to do the fringe and that shouldn't take long.  Um, yeah, that's it.  It won't take me long.......famous last words.

I did end up leaving 1/2 hour early, but after 1 1/2 hours, this is how much of the fringe I completed:

I worked another hour on it yesterday and still haven't made it  half way around yet.  I guess it's a good thing it looks like a Christmas pillow, because I might just be able to have it finished by then.

Rose Mary, our instructor, told us she studied this fringe for like 8 months trying to figure it out.  Once she attempted it, it took her a week to get it right. It is complicated!  But really fun the way it interconnects.  She must have had to explain it to each of us at least 5 times.  As Kaye put it  "clear as mud."   But for those of us that were at the point of putting the fringe on, we all 'got' it as we worked at it.

Some of the women were gracious enough to let me take pictures of their pieces.

Really like the way the crushed velvet looks:

I love to see how everyone's colors come together.
Not sure when Rosie's next class will be locally.
I hope it's soon.

Gorgeous variety! I can see where that fringe would get you crazy! Thank goodness my little butterfly did not ask for fringe. I'm still contemplating what I will make out of it and may put some rows of beads around it.

i love love the fringe! the others are beautiful, too, but i'm partial to yours. i like the way you did your center best. not that there's anything wrong with the other's...you know what i mean. the velvet look is pretty too. happy birthday to meghan!!! it's a good thing you went and learned how to do that fringe in person because by the sounds of how complicated it is you might not have "got" it otherwise. hope you are having a happy day. bead on!

Thanks for sharing workshop photos! Each one is so unique. And the beading certainly is going to finish the piece off isn't it! VERY nice job!

Oh, you have such a great personality, Lynn! You make me laugh!! Those our *MY* famous last words...believe me! :)) Oh, I keep thinking I've learned that lesson but, *NO*, I keep learning it over and over and over again! I'll just whip it up...is another lesson I can't seem to get through my thick skull. ;-)

Oh, the fringe is looking beautiful and it was so fun that you shared the other pieces from your class...they are all lovely!
Wish I could take one her classes...how fun! XOX
